Statement of Purpose:
I believe that what we do as educators begins and ends with students. As an administrator, my purpose is to serve our school in every capacity I can so that our students will become future-ready leaders and role models for our society.
Where I came from…
I was born in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, but grew up in Encinitas, CA. I graduated from La Costa Canyon High School in 2005 and went to school in San Luis Obispo before returning home to north county San Diego in 2008. My family and I just relocated to SLO again in February, 2024 and are excited to work with this amazing community!
Where I Went to College:
After high school I studied at Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo, CA. I transferred to and graduated from California State University, San Marcos with a B.A. in Social Sciences (emphases in Political Science and Sociology). After spending 5 years in non-profit education, I earned my Multiple Subject Credential and Single Subject Credential in English. In 2021, I completed my M.A. in Education with an emphasis in Education Administration.
My Career in Education:
I started my career in education as a Title I Site Coordinator with Oceanside Unified School District and San Diego Unified School Districts (Cesar Chavez Middle School, Jefferson Middle School, Laurel Elementary and Kearny Mesa High School). After receiving my teaching credential, I became a teacher with Escondido Union School District at Mission Middle School, where I taught English, English Language Development, and World History. In 2021 I became an Assistant Principal with San Marcos Unified School District at La Mirada Academy (K-8), and in October of 2022 I moved into the role of Assistant Principal at Mission Hills High School. In February, 2024, I started in my current role as Assistant Principal at San Luis Obispo High School.
