Biome WebQuest


Use the WebQuest links provided, your textbook, or any other resources at your disposal to create one of the following media types for presention of your chosen biome. Web Page or PowerPoint Presentation.
 

Your project must include:

A world map that shows the location of your biome. 

Abiotic factors of your biome including, but not limited to:

  • Precipitation type and amount, 
  • Precipitation difference during the seasons, if any;
  • Temperatures Highs and Lows, 
  • Temperature differences during the seasons, if any seasons.
  • Light
  • Wind
  • Soil Characteristics - Types, fertility, depth, nutrients.

A Climagraph for your biome.

A way to show the interdependent relationships of organisms.
(Names and at least two pictures of each trophic level must be included for full credit.)

  • Producers 
  • First Order Consumers 
  • Second Order Consumers 
  • Third Order Consumers 
  • Decomposers

A food web that relates each of the trophic levels in the biome.

Examples of plant and animal adaptations.

Example(s) of symbiotic relationships.

  • Mutualism 
  • Commensalism 
  • Parasitism 
  • Predator-prey 

Unique characteristics.

  • Geologic land forms 
  • Elevation
  • Economic value 
  • Endangered species 

A hypothesize about the environmental impact of humans on your biome in the past, presently, and in the future.

A list of sources cited (at least three needed).

  • At least one must be an Internet web site, Online Encyclopedia, or another online source.
  • Include the appropriate URL (http://www. ...) for these sources.
  • Other examples of sources could include textbooks, magazines, or microfiles.
