Science Notes
20 points |
This includes class notes and reading
notes and warm up questions. Notes may be hand written
or written with a word processor. All information
is accurate. Diagrams should be made with other colors
to enhance the visual image. All diagrams must be
labeled properly. Any diagram should have a caption
/ title. |

Homework
20 points |
All homework will be included in
this section. This will include all CheckPoint Questions
assigned during the unit. Each assignment should be
dated. Include worksheets here. |

Lab Reports
30 points |
Labs must be completed using the
proper lab form. A conclusion must be written for
each lab explaining what you learned by doing the
activity. "Results" of a procedure are clearly recorded.
Measurements, when required, show proper units. This
section includes the notes you collect like the times,
temperatures used, quantities, good things that happened
and the bad. If possible, data should be in a graph
or chart. A Lab
Evaluation Form must be completed for each lab.

Current Events

Include one Current
Event. The current event must include the article
or the source for the information must be cited properly.
The written report must include a summary of the article,
your opinion of the information, and the most significant
thing you learned from the article. |

One Science
Career each quarter. One page typed paper indicating
information related to required academic preparation,
training, job duties, compensation, and advancement.
Indicate if you would consider this as a profession
and explain why. |

Ethics
Issue

A one page typed critique related
to 1st semester topic on Ethics
in science. Include both sides of the issue, your
opinion of the information and the most significant

Historical Biography

The Historical
Biography should be a 1-2 page typed paper about
a scientist and his/her contribution to science and
society. Include background about the discovery or
accomplishment. Explain how this has made a difference
in your life and the overall importance to society.

| Self-evaluation |
Students are expected
to honestly evaluate their own work. If the difference
between the student evaluation and the teacher evaluation
is more than 10 points, 5 points will be deducted
from the teacher's score when the grade is recorded. |
| Deadline |
All notebooks are expected
to be completed by the assigned deadline. Notebooks
will be accepted after the deadline for 50% credit.
Final notebook is due on the day of your final exam.
