Notebook Content:  Use Science Notebook Rubric.

  1. Notes – class and reading notes for the unit.  This may be hand-written.
  2. Labsall laboratory experiments in order of completion.  May be hand-written.
  3. Current Events

    ·        One current per unit.  Total of 3 for the trimester. 1 current event will be given orally.

    ·        Include original article with summary page, your opinion of the information and the most significant thing you learned from the article.  Each should show the date and source of the article.

    ·        Due dates:  9/19/03,  10/117/03,  11/21/03
    (One Oral Current Event required each Trimester)

  4. Ethics

    ·        A one page typed critique related to 1st semester topic on ethics in science.

    ·        Include both sides of the issue, your opinion of the information and the most significant thing you learned.

  1. Career

    ·        One career each trimester.  To be given orally.

    ·        One page typed for each career including information related to required academic preparation, training, job duties, compensation, and advancement.

    ·        Due date:  9/19/03

  2. Historical Biography

    ·        1-2 page typed paper about a scientist and his/her contributions to science and society.

    ·        Give the background of the person as well as his/her discovery or accomplishments.

    ·        Include how this has made a difference in your life and the overall importance this has made to society.

    ·        Cite resource appropriately.
