About

Courtney Hendrickson joined San Luis Obispo High School's administration in the 2024-2025 school year. Previously an assistant principal in a neighboring district, she is passionate about leadership, developing programs that improve student learning, and fostering a safe, positive school culture. Courtney values strong relationships with students, staff and parents to promote collaboration and growth. 

Courtney has taught English Language Arts, AVID and ELD at the high school level. She has served in a range of leadership roles, including English Department Chair, WASC Leader, and TIP Mentor, and has coached Mock Trial and cross country. In addition, she has advised numerous student clubs and served at the district level as AVID District Director and PBIS District Coordinator. Courtney holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Education, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, a single-subject teaching credential, and an administrative credential from California State University, Fresno.

The 2021-2022 school year marked Desiree's first year at SLOHS. She is proud to be part of the Tiger family and has a deep-purpose commitment to excellence, equity, and creating inclusive and supportive environments for each and every student. Before joining SLOHS, Desiree had experience as a department lead, TIP mentor, Teacher on Special Assignment, and as an English and AVID teacher at the high school and middle school levels with a diverse range of students. Desiree is passionate about supporting students and helping them learn how to be productive, responsible citizens who make a positive impact in their communities. In her free time, Desiree enjoys spending time with her family, reading, being outdoors, and going to the beach. Her love for soccer runs deep, and she can be found coaching one of her three kids most weekends.
