Dance Team in bleachers with text: SLOHS Dance where creativity, confidence, community and Tiger Spirit come to life

Welcome to the SLOHS Dance Program

The SLOHS Dance Program is a vibrant, inclusive community where students discover the joy of movement, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and create lasting friendships. Whether a student has never stepped into a dance studio or dreams of pursuing dance beyond high school, there is a place for everyone in our program.

Our mission is simple: to create a positive environment where students feel supported, challenged, inspired, and celebrated. Through dance, students learn discipline, teamwork, creativity, self-expression, resilience, and confidence—skills that extend far beyond the dance floor.

Dance Team: Building a Legacy

The 2025–2026 school year marked the inaugural season of the SLOHS Dance Team—and what a remarkable first year it was. From day one, the team focused on building strong culture, positive energy, meaningful traditions, and lasting friendships.

For these dancers, dance is more than entertainment—it is artistic expression. Whether performing at football games, basketball games, pep assemblies, Tiger Spirit Night, the Cal Poly Dance Team Showcase, or the AGHS Dance Show, the team's favorite part is energizing the crowd and creating memorable experiences for the school community.

Dance Team members train in multiple styles and perform choreography created by Ms. Mettler, guest artists, alumni, and student choreographers. The program emphasizes professionalism, accountability, leadership, and a strong work ethic while balancing team bonding and community.

One of the season's most memorable accomplishments was hosting Tiger Spirit's first-ever Future Tiger Spirit Workshop alongside Cheer—creating a special experience that inspired the next generation of SLOHS students. No matter what the future holds, this inaugural season will always be remembered as the year a new tradition began.
